Good evening, everyone!
I was just closing up shop, checking my PV so I know how much work I need to do this week to reach my personal goals, and I received this e-mail from Pat. Pat
Hintze is awesome. I love the way he helps everyone to understand our business. I would love to spend a weekend at a seminar with him as the main speaker.
As a special treat, he takes us on a journey to a meeting held by one of his team members. Pay special attention to the attendees, and what he has to say about
the outcome of the meeting. I have a few more comments after you read his e-mail.

Subject: A COLORFUL MEETING!
Dear Edie,
I hope you had as colorful of a week as I did! I thought it would be FUN to have you come along to a meeting I had this past
week and allow you to see just how having a basic understanding of the different personality colors can help you build a
successful business! Wanna come with me? Good, let's go:
I arrived a bit early at the home of a new RED distributor, Barb (And her RED husband, Larry) to set up my laptop and
projector for the pending presentation. Everything was is perfect order. The veggie tray, pretzel dish and freshly baked
cookies sat proudly on display in the kitchen. Obviously the day had been spent cleaning and preparing for an evening with guests
TIP: ALWAYS wear good socks when you do a meeting at a RED's home (Green's too!) because you will NEED to take your shoes off the minute you walk in the
door! (Especially in January in Wisconsin!)
Barb had invited 4 guests to the meeting and one of those had asked if she could bring someone who 'really needed something like this' as well! So 5 guests were
expected and I was ready to greet them with my colored glasses on!
Sandy (Green) was the first one to show up (No surprise there!). She was very easy to identify because the first thing she asked for was a piece of paper and a
pen so that she could jot down a few notes! :-)
Next was Scott, (RED) a very confident (sort of cocky) and successful in Real Estate had no hesitation to let us know of another networking 'deal' he had just
started with! The classic show me yours so that I can show you mine kind of guy.
Then Kim (Yellow) showed up. She was so grateful that she was invited. We shook hands but Kim made very little eye contact with me. She was feeling down
because the person 'who really needed this' had canceled about an hour ago. Kim said that she should have picked her up for the meeting and felt it was her fault
that her guest was not able to make it! (I love how Yellows always blame themselves for others lack of interest!)
Then about 10 minutes late, Brad and Jerri showed up laughing and joking, giving big hugs to the hosts. Smiling introductions were made to all of us and the first
thing they wanted to know was if there was any wine to go with the pretzels! (BLUE all the way!!)
I thought, WOW, what a colorful group we had here tonight! FUN STUFF! :-)
The greatest thing about our opportunity is that we can effectively meet the motives of any personality color with our opportunity! So I got started knowing how to
handle each person’s needs and actually the probable outcome of the night!
I talked about about our mission of doing good for others, which Kim (Y) loved.(She really liked the Tree planting thing)
I covered the history, science and commitment to quality that is backed by our 50 year study that had to give Sandy (G) a
bad case of writers cramp! She could hardly keep up! She asked many questions throughout the night. Its always great
to have a green person to ask questions because we have so many great answers to give back! Plus it gave Brad and Jerri (B) the chance to crack some sarcastic
comments about all of Sandy's questions which put everyone there more at ease!
Brad and Jerri let out an audible 'yee-haa' when I talked about the incentive trip to Hawaii! Scott (R) spent the entire meeting STANDING behind the couch and was
a tough read.
When I handed out a photocopy of the commission plan I made sure to hand them to Sandy so that she could pass them to the others! Sandy immediately started
studying the sheet while Kim put it on her lap and simply listened. Brad and Jerri set
theirs on the table next to them and Scott had it all figured out already and did not even take one! :-)
After a very dynamic, compelling and powerful close (:-)) (I even got a nod of approval from Scott when I talked about the
power of the industry and social trends in our favor!) certainly everyone would be eager to sign up! Right?! AAAA...NO, BUT I already KNEW that because of the
color thing!
The RESULTS were VERY PREDICTABLE! Here is what happened:
Brad and Jerri (B) were like "Sounds Cool, the Gold thing looks the best. Let's go to Hawaii!" (Gotta love Blues!)
Kim our yellow friend was sweet and kind giving praise for the great presentation. She said she would need some time to think about it and was concerned that she
did not know enough people to do this.
Sandy (Who I later found out she was an accountant! She is SO Green!) needed more information! She thought that a product guide would help her a lot! :-) So
she took one of those.
Scott (R) was surprisingly positive about it and boasted about how many people he would have at our next meeting! (We'll see, Reds have a tendency to be big
talkers but you never know!)
Barb and Larry thought the meeting was very productive but wished for better RESULTS!
I... well I just had FUN!! I love showing our opportunity even if I already know the outcome before it is over! :-)
Remember, your job is not about getting people 'in' our business! Your job is to simply share our business with every
one you can, they must take it from there!! The key to SUCCESS is to just keep showing it, no matter what!
Any way it goes you know that you are going to have a very 'colorful' meeting!
Thanks for coming along, drive safely home!
Pat

I consider Pat to be an awesome speaker, someone who could talk a person right out of their socks. However, no one at that meeting signed up that night. This
shows you that it doesn’t matter how good you are at explaining the Shaklee opportunity, whether your hair looked good that day, you were early, late, offered too
much information or not enough information. The key is to share the Shaklee opportunity with as many people as you can. Sooner or later, it will be the right time,
the stars will all be in alignment and you will have a new Gold Ambassador. AND, you’ll forget about all the NO’s and start focusing on finding your next Gold
Ambassador.
Bob and I are here to help you, too. If you have a person you know has been complaining about their job, they don’t feel that their life has any meaning, they want
to spend more time with their family, or they really need to get a new car, please tell them you have a friend that can help. Refer me to them, ask them to call me
or e-mail me their contact information and I’ll call them. BUT, whatever you do, DON’T let them walk away without at least making the offer to them.
Bob and I can meet with your referral, explain the business opportunity, the incentives, the bonus structure, and answer all their questions. It may take one or two,
or even three, meetings, but when they sign up, they will be your new Gold Ambassador!
Most times we would like to have you there on the first meeting with them. This gives you an opportunity to observe how the meeting goes. There’s really no
magic to it. You mostly listen to what the prospects goals and dreams are, then work from there. The important thing is you can’t get them to a first meeting, if
you don’t talk with them. This holds true for those interested in the business, and those looking for good products.
So, your goal for this week is to talk with at least five people – that’s one each day. And, of those five, see if you can set up a meeting with at least one of them.
Call me or e-mail me WHEN you do, and I’ll clear my calendar to be there.
Have an awesome Shaklee week!
